7 Ocak \u00c7ar\u015famba ak\u015fam\u0131 saat 19.00\u2019da ger\u00e7ekle\u015fecek AURA Suare<\/strong> bulu\u015fmas\u0131nda Kaikkonen, “Unfolding Hope<\/strong>” ba\u015fl\u0131kl\u0131 konu\u015fmas\u0131yla aram\u0131zda olacak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fin sanat\u00e7\u0131 Kaarina Kaikkonen<\/strong>, kamusal alanlar, mimari mek\u00e2nlar ve do\u011fal \u00e7evreyle kurdu\u011fu g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc ili\u015fkiler \u00fczerinden geli\u015ftirdi\u011fi b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00f6l\u00e7ekli yerle\u015ftirmeleriyle tan\u0131n\u0131yor. \u00c7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131nda s\u0131kl\u0131kla ikinci el giysiler gibi g\u00fcndelik ve ki\u015fisel nesneleri kullanan Kaikkonen, bireysel haf\u0131za ile kolektif deneyim aras\u0131ndaki s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131 g\u00f6r\u00fcn\u00fcr k\u0131l\u0131yor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AURA Istanbul is delighted to host Kaarina Kaikkonen<\/strong>as the visiting instructor of the studio \u201cArt and Architecture: Boundaries\u201d<\/em>, led by H\u00fcseyin Yanar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us on Wednesday<\/strong>, <\/strong>January<\/strong>7 at 7:00 PM<\/strong> for an AURA Suare<\/strong> talk titled \u201c<\/strong>Unfolding Hope<\/strong>,\u201d<\/strong> by Kaarina Kaikkonen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finnish artist Kaarina Kaikkonen<\/strong> is known for her large-scale installations developed through a strong relationship with public spaces, architectural settings, and the natural environment. Frequently employing everyday and personal objects such as second-hand clothing, Kaikkonen makes visible the boundaries between individual memory and collective experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her works, exhibited internationally, address themes of fragility, belonging, loss, and solidarity through a site-specific, experience-oriented approach, making significant contributions to contemporary art practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaikkonen previously joined the Art and Architecture<\/strong> panel at MSGS\u00dc in 2024, and now returns to reconnect with Istanbul\u2019s art and architecture community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaarina Kaikkonen<\/strong> studied at the Academy of Fine Arts between 1978 and 1983. She has become one of the leading artists of Finnish art thanks to her work in sculpture and installations.

Alongside the monumental features of her works \u2013 always strongly imbued with the environmental and architectural elements surrounding them \u2013 there is also a core linked to the impermanence and frailty of materials somewhat pointing back to the frailty of human beings. The movement of \u201ccoming and going\u201d from something is a recurrent formal element in the artist\u2019s work \u2013 as we can also see in the works’ titles \u2013 thus contributing to create a time bridge between past memories and their tension towards the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
